Momo’s Shadow Detectives

Discover how an opaque object blocks light, and predict how moving a torch changes its shadow.

How to play

Follow the yellow torch light to the wooden post. A, B and C mark possible shadow positions. Choose an answer, then explore why it works. In the two-picture clue, compare the same post with a lower and a higher torch. Diagrams show one main light source. There is no timer; use a hint whenever you like.

A torch on one side of an opaque post makes a shadow on the other side. Moving the torch can change the shadow’s place or length.
